ACADEMIC ADVISING

Academic Advising for Adult and Online Studies

Academic advising provides students with guidance for developing an educational plan, selecting courses, and making referrals for assistance from other campus resources.

Academic advising is available to all Adult and Online Studies students.

Academic advising in Adult and Online Studies considers the uniqueness of our student population and adheres to the recommendations of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).

The professional academic advisor provides each undergraduate student with guidance for developing an educational plan, selecting courses, and making referrals for assistance from other campus resources. Undergraduate students are assigned faculty and qualified professional advisors.

Graduate students are assigned a faculty advisor.

The faculty advisor serves as a mentor for students in regard to professional opportunities and direction in the discipline.

A student may also seek assistance for any member of the Adult and Online Studies staff or the director of advising when the assigned advisor is not available.
