Next steps for juniors and seniors: What now?

  • Apply: students can start applying right after their junior year. The application is free and online (no essay requirement). Once this is complete, transcripts and ACT/SAT scores need to be sent in for review. From there, our admission team will review for an acceptance decision.
  • Admission Decision: If accepted, the student needs to make sure we are linked to their FAFSA in order to receive their financial aid award offer. This offer will indicate academic, government, and need-based aid.
  • Committing: When a student decides to attend TU, there is an enrollment deposit that confirms your spot on campus. This enrollment deposit will go directly into your student account and be applied towards your tuition. From there, we will reach out about registration and forms.

Why did Tusculum decide to switch from a college to a university?

  • The university put tremendous thought into this decision and concluded this was the best move to position Tusculum for continued success.
  • The word “college” can give the impression a student is attending a community college instead of a four-year higher education institution.
  • The change enabled Tusculum to showcase the breadth of its undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • University status aligned with Tusculum’s goal to create doctoral programs and expand the number of master’s programs.
  • It gave Tusculum the opportunity to restructure its academic programs and create five colleges under the university umbrella.
